Encouragement: Philippians 4: 6-7 (The Message)
"Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life."

Workout 9/24: Virtual Shoveling & Push-ups
It's not even winter yet, and CrossFit has us getting ready for shoveling weather. Now that autumn is upon us, it's time to get geared up for my least favorite season. Yes, winter is my nemesis. Of course, I could move to another part of the world where snow is foreign, but that would mean moving out of a city like Chicago. It is a great city for at least 5 months out of the year. I've decided that I want a winter with very little snow and temps that rarely fall below 30 degrees...is that too much to ask? Probably. At least I have my family to keep me warm.

Workout 12/5: Pull-ups on the Minute
Winter is here! Fresh snow is on the ground (about 4 inches), and most of it is still white. Ask me how I feel about winter in a week, and you may find me having a different attitude. My attitude about winter turns sour as soon as the snow turns grey. But for now, I will relish the positive attitude.
Okay, fine, there are fun things about snow...this picture proves it!
CrossFit: Clocking Pull-ups
With a continuously running clock do one pull-up the first minute, two pull-ups the second minute, three pull-ups the third minute... continuing as long as you are able.
7 Rounds + 4 (Total: 32 Pull-ups)
*I feel like a weakling, and then I remember when I couldn't even do one pull-up without assistance. These were REAL, TRUE, STRICT Pull-ups...WOW! Okay, I'm finished patting myself on the back! It just goes to show what training can do...training got me to and through three marathons, and now it is improving my total fitness and strength.
